When is a radio like a fishing rod?

One of the great things about radio broadcasting is that it’s so accessible to so many people. The UN says it is still the most accessible mass media on the planet. But it’s only accessible to people who have radios (not rocket science I know).

More vivid pictures came through recently of our FEBC team in Thailand helping out during the terrible floods, and what are they doing? Paddling down the streets distributing radios. In line with the ancient Chinese proverb :

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

… missions radio both broadcasts the lifesaving message of hope in Christ AND hands out the tools for tuning in. That’s when a radio is like a fishing rod.
