God speaks in various ways.

People say “Variety is the spice of life.” Personally if I want spice, I prefer Indian food.  But we are created for variety. It’s refreshing for our soul to experience different places, different people, and generally try new things. One time I traveled from the Middle East where I’d been living for a few years, to Mexico for a friend’s wedding. Bright colourful, singing and dancing Mexico. Talk about different! But it was good for me to experience God in a completely new place.

The Bible says “In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.” Hebrews 1:1-3

This tells us that God speaks to us in person, and with variety.

Every month FEBC stations share stories of how their programmes, music and visits have blessed listeners. In Thailand they enjoy programmes that speak of how Jesus frees us from the trap of “bad karma.” But in Mongolia they’re thrilled by the news that addictions can be broken. In India both women and men are hearing about God’s love and value for male and female.

Not only do our various countries have unique programming, but within each station there is great variety. Music, talkback, teaching, drama, children’s programmes, women’s programmes, even gardening and business programmes. God has wisdom and grace for every aspect of our lives and people want to hear it. He is infinitely creative and beautifully personal, and people all over the world need to hear in their own way at their own time, about their own lives, in their own language.

Be encouraged,

Matt
