Hope – Sometimes Lost In Translation

Have you ever felt worried about what to say if someone asks you about your faith? I have. But not anymore.

One of the Apostle Peter’s most encouraging messages to believers can sometimes sound the opposite! He said:

“Even if you suffer for what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear, do not be afraid. But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to anyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.”  (1 Peter 3)

I used to think I had to prepare a convincing, powerful argument to defend the faith. But what Peter is actually saying is sometimes lost in translation. It means – When you adore Jesus and allow him to lead your life, that is the preparation, and that allows you to reply in the best way possible. Just reveal why you follow Jesus.

Being Prepared To Give An Answer.

Be encouraged,

Matt
