Bible reading: 1 Peter 1:3-12

“The prophets who told us this was coming asked a lot of questions about this gift of life God was preparing. The Messiah’s Spirit let them in on some of it—that the Messiah would experience suffering, followed by glory. They clamoured to know who and when. All they were told was that they were serving you, you who by orders from heaven have now heard for yourselves—through the Holy Spirit—the Message of those prophecies fulfilled. Do you realize how fortunate you are? Angels would have given anything to be in on this!” (1 Peter 1:10-12 from The Message)

Your message is breathtaking

The wonder and beauty of our Christian message is breathtaking, and so very different. This message of Peter’s is bursting with hope and joy, and this is what you are communicating to listeners everywhere when you pray and financially support Far East Broadcasting

I hope you are not depressed by world events, the wars and suffering on the news. I encourage you to keep your eyes on the parallel truth that salvation is coming to countless households and hearts this year, and right now. The profound truth for you and I, and our FEBC listeners is that we will be saved! Freed from the pain and toil of this life, for an eternal and wonderful resurrected life as God the Creator intended from the beginning!

The Good News is heard

We will not be saved by perfect behaviour and following a religious code of conduct, but by hearing an announcement! The “preaching of the good news” (v.12) saved you and me and is saving thousands every day around the world.

Good news is genuinely ‘good’

Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Communism, and traditional tribal religions all teach and enforce a salvation by works! This is not good news, nor joy-giving, but hard labour and depressing.

Whoever you are and whatever you do, you have a great purpose in life. Stay on mission in 2026 by announcing the Good News with FEBC, and praying with us that people everywhere will hear the programmes from our studios, and hear the Holy Spirit sent from heaven (v.12), and experience the revelation of Jesus Christ, just as you have.

Kia kaha,

Matt
